Product Description

You bought (or are considering buying) an audiophile-quality Polk XRt12 XM tuner. You listen to XM radio while sitting at your computer — or maybe you have networked computers throughout your house, and a multi-room audio distribution system. Now, XM Control lets you see "what's playing" and change channels from your computer — or from any computer in your house!

New Features

  • Preset buttons (8 or 16 buttons, your choice).
  • Remote support for iPhone and other cell/PDAs.

System Requirements

XM Control requires Java 1.4.0 or later. Versions of XM Control are available for Microsoft Windows (98 or later), Macintosh (requires Mac OS X 10.2.3 or later), and Linux. (The Linux version is not sold separately; it is included free with orders for Windows or Mac.) Only the XM Control "master" controller is platform-specific; the "remote" panels will run on any OS that supports Java 1.4.0 or later.

Product Features
  • Displays artist and title information and elapsed time for the selection currently playing on your XM tuner.
  • Instantly changes channels at the click of your mouse.
  • Scrollable list shows all available XM channels.
  • "Tool tips" give a detailed description of each channel in the scrollable list.
  • New! Preset buttons that tune your favorite channels. Your choice of 8 or 16 preset buttons.
  • If you have a home IP network (wired or wireless) you can run identical "remote" XM Control panels on every computer in your house.
  • New! Remote support for cell phones and PDAs. Supports any device with a Web browser (optimized for, and tested on, Apple's iPhone and iPod touch).
  • The "remote" panels communicate with the "master" panel (the copy of XM Control that runs on the computer connected to the XM tuner).
  • Your "master" computer connects to the RS232 serial port on the rear of the Polk XRt12 XM tuner.
  • Optionally, a second RS232 serial port on your computer can be configured as a "control" port that interfaces XM Control to an automation system such as AMX or Crestron.
